June 26, 2008, The school year is over. The brothers Jens and Rob Goeman can use the summer vacation with a good report. But Jens has not been feeling well for a while. 'Shortly before midnight the phone finally rings. It is Leen. I hardly understand her. She is in all states. Cryes and calls through the phone. "Traces of leukemia have been found in his blood. Jens has blood cancer," she shouts.
I curse, hit my fist on the table. "
in" Jens, the boy who refused to die "tell Thierry and Jens Goeman in a diary how they experienced the hard fight against cancer : the debilitating chemotherapy, nausea and hair loss, the fear of infections, the uncertainty about the future. But the diary also describes the courage of Jens, his belief in healing and how the family ultimately comes out stronger.
With this book, Thierry and Jens want to help young cancer patients and their families in their fight against this terrible disease and make them see that cancer can be cured.
